{"id":1254,"date":"2013-01-03T21:07:38","date_gmt":"2013-01-04T03:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thechristys.net\/?p=1254"},"modified":"2013-01-03T21:07:38","modified_gmt":"2013-01-04T03:07:38","slug":"moonrise-kingdom-a-love-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/?p=1254","title":{"rendered":"Moonrise Kingdom, a Love Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t do many movie reviews.&#160; I really like movies but I don\u2019t like the \u201cgoing to the movies experience\u201d so by the time I see them almost everything has been said about them good or bad.&#160; But if a movie isn\u2019t a blockbuster and I REALLY like it and I am in need of some posting material I will give it a shout out on the blog.&#160; Moonrise Kingdome checks each of these boxes.&#160; For some of you, I can sum up the whole of the Moonrise experience with two words \u2013&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; Wes&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; Anderson<img style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; display: inline\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/themovieblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/moonrise_kingdom-600x450.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I think most people love\u2019em or hate\u2019em.&#160; In my opinion he makes some of the best movies out there, I am a big Wes Anderson fan.&#160; Some years back I posted about another Anderson flick <a href=\"http:\/\/thechristys.net\/?p=96\" target=\"_blank\">The Darjeeling Limited<\/a>.&#160; I liked that one too.&#160; This guy has a way of making a movie, telling a story that is like no one else.&#160; I love the details.&#160; If I can use an analogy of how he is able to make such a strong connection to his audience, it might be like a HDR (high dynamic range) photograph can remind you MORE of how a place or a scene <em>felt<\/em> than an \u201caccurate\u201d photograph.&#160; Perhaps a better analogy might be an impressionist painter who can make you feel what is going on in the painting using colors and shapes instead of a photo-realistic representation of the actual scene.&#160; Wes is able to use some lines of imperfect dialog <\/p>\n<div name=\"divHrefB\" style=\"height: 0px;width: 0px;overflow:hidden;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/apoteketreceptfritt.com\/kooop-levitra-with-dapoxetine-receptfritt.html\">apoteketreceptfritt.com<\/a><\/div>\n<p> , quirky props, slightly off camera angle and an impeccable sense of timing when woven together is so much more effective than hitting you over the head with the exact details.&#160; You see this and identify with he character and their situation and that\u2019s what good movies are all about, right?<\/p>\n<p>Some people focus in on one of the components like the dialog or the cinematography and think \u201cthis is terrible\u201d or unbelievably boring just like some people look at a Monet and say \u201cit\u2019s just a bunch of dots, what\u2019s the point?\u201d&#160; To each his own.&#160; This is one of mine.<\/p>\n<p>Other Wes movies for your consideration;<\/p>\n<p>2009 Fantastic Mr. Fox <\/p>\n<p>2007 Hotel Chevalier <\/p>\n<p>2007 The Darjeeling Limited<\/p>\n<p>2004 The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou <\/p>\n<p>2001 The Royal Tenenbaums<\/p>\n<p>1998 Rushmore <\/p>\n<p>1996 Bottle Rocket<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t do many movie reviews.&#160; I really like movies but I don\u2019t like the \u201cgoing to the movies experience\u201d so by the time I see them almost everything has been said about them good or bad.&#160; But if a movie isn\u2019t a blockbuster and I REALLY like it and I am in need [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[26],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1254"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1254"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1254\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1254"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1254"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thechristys.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1254"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
