This is the 2011 Mustang. It has 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It has (not yet official) a 5 star safety rating . It goes 10,000 miles between oil changes and a choice of 6 speed manual or automatic transmissions. It has only 6 cylinders. It gets 19mpg in the city. It gets 30mpg on the highway. Are you kidding me? That is better than a 2007-2010 Toyota Camry!
The pride of Japan was able to produce 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque, both respectable numbers but it only scored a .4 on the heartbeat monitor – barely above sleeping.
Let me show you what one of those looks like. Mmmmmm banality
The pricing for the Mustang hasn’t been released yet, but I believe it will cost less than the Camry at about $23K.
I think this is pretty impressive progress in the US auto industry. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t’ want to strap my 3yr olds in the back of a Mustang and my mom wouldn’t fit either but a car this fun with this kind of economy, well . . . it just raised the bar for economy cars.
By they way, this is the littlest brother of the family, the next one up is the GT which will have over 400hp and 400lb-ft of torque and the big nasty – Shelby GT500 with 550hp and 515lb-ft of torque. Isn’t technology great?
So you getting one 🙂
No, I will have to suffer along with my old GT convertible but I will manage 😉
So pretty.
But its so SMALL!
